Paix et amour

First off, my thoughts and prayers have been with those affected by the horrid attacks in Paris and elsewhere last week. There is nothing funny about Terrorism, and this post is not meant to disrespect, nor make light of any of the events since last Friday. But... after having watched a bit of the coverage I did have a bit of a FH themed observation. I like CNN, but I find the coverage, by them and most news channels, of horrible world events extremely unsettling and gratuitous. In most cases, after the actual story occurs, in this case the attacks last Friday night, there isn't really much new... news.

But... in order to continue having viewers (and ratings and money) flow in, networks milk every event. Sending their most 'serious' looking reports to the story. Sadly though, without any actual 'new' news, this usually consists of replaying the story, especially sensational video, over and over and over again. Usually so many times, that it's ability to impact, pretty much disappears. Video that was shocking and sad on Friday night, becomes annoying and boring on Sunday after having it played on a loop for two days. In addition, they also bring on pundits to discuss the issue to death. Some of CNN's terrorism pundits seem intent to spread more fear, than actual factual information.

On the plus side however, there is also a focus on positive stories. Stories of hope, survival, heroism and the human spirit. Watching the dad tell his young son, 'they have guns, we have flowers' was a beautiful moment. Anderson Cooper interviewed several people whose acts of survival were both frightening and inspirational. Although I am sure it wasn't intentional, Wednesday nights 360 also included Anderson talking with several French hotties. First Anderson was out on the streets with one guy who should be a model. Shortly after, Anderson was interviewing Isobel Bowdery. Her account of being inside the Paris' Bataclan Concert Hall, went viral. As she sat with her boyfriend, who was also trapped in the Hall, I thought this guy doesn't look like he could be a model, he has to be a model... and he is.

'I don't usually speak on social networks, but there are too many thing I can't contain and who won't let me find sleep as long as I don't-Kay.'
Success model Amaury Baudoin, who also accounted his ordeal within the Concert Hall on Facebook.

An Autumn Afternoon: Zach Clemens by NICKET

'Zach has a great combination of maturity and playfulness that makes him a pleasure to work with. He is willing to go along with whatever concepts I suggest and he has no inhibitions about being in front of the camera, he truly enjoys the experience. He always comes prepared and ready to go.'

Earlier this year, we joined photographer Nichols, NICKET, along with model Zach Clemens on an early May California beach shoot. (Free Like A Bee) In that shoot, Nicholas captured a portrait of many of the qualities associated with a quintessential California beach bum. Zach not only has the hot and the blonde down pat, he has a great body, fit not through hours at the gym, but hours in the sun and the surf.

Zach expresses a sexual freedom and spirituality which comes through not only in his care free attitude about being naked, but in his relationship with his surroundings. In the previous feature, Zach connected not only with the viewer, but the rocks, sand and ocean that surrounded him.

In this series of images, taken just this fall, Zach becomes a beautiful piece of the landscape, lounging within the long field grass, now yellowed and dry after months of being heated by the summer sun. You can almost feel both the roughness and coolness of the dried out grass against Zach's skin.

I love the contrast between Zach's skin and hair color with the similar colors that has nature's studio provided. I also love the contrast in emotion, look and feel between Nicholas' Spring shoot, and his recent return to nature with this shoot with Zach.

Showing Them Who's Boss

'Hold Me Closer Tony Danza'
Phoebe Buffay

There are some men, like fine wines, that take me a while to fully appreciated. Tony Danza is one of those fine wines. I was only a kid when Who's The Boss was on the air. I was more into Alyssa Milano, or at least pretended to be, with pin-ups of her on my walls. It was easier, at least with my brothers, to have Milano on the wall than other sit-com stars like Ricky Schroder or the pre-douche Growing Pains version of Kirk Cameron.

I liked Katherine Helmond, and like many, pondered the mystery that was Judith Light's hair. The show was rather mindless and I really didn't give Danza much thought, he was the Dad on the show, that's was about it. My dad, or daddy interests, didn't begin til I was quite a bit older. But last week, Danza was in the news again, honoring his former Who's The Boss co-star Danny Pintauro at the Aid for AIDS My Hero gala in New York.

A quick google search on Danza led to a bevy of beefy shirtless shots from the 70's and 80's and all of a sudden I got, and got hard, Danza's appeal. That tight little body, usually in tight jeans, along with his New York Italian accent and those adorable dumbfounded facial expressions he often wore are incredibly sexy. Although I didn't see it at 8, I see it very clearly now.
